Indication:
The medicine is a combination drug for hormone replacement therapy (HRT). It contains two types of female sex hormones: estrogen and progestin. It is used in postmenopausal women whose last natural menstrual period was at least 12 months ago.
It is used to treat symptoms that occur after menopause.
After menopause, the amount of estrogen in the female body decreases. This can cause symptoms such as: B. cause a feeling of heat in the face, neck and chest (“hot flashes”). The medicine relieves these symptoms. It will only be prescribed if your symptoms are having a significant impact on your daily life.
Dosage:
Your doctor will try to prescribe the lowest dose possible and the shortest duration of therapy to treat your symptoms. Talk to your doctor if you think the dose is too strong or too weak.
Always take this medication exactly as your doctor has told you. If you are unsure, consult your doctor or pharmacist. Your doctor will decide how long you should take Lafamme.
The recommended dose is one tablet per day, preferably at the same time.
If you have taken other HRT products
Continue taking the tablets until you finish the current pack and have taken all the tablets for the month. Take the first tablet the next day. Do not take a break between taking previous tablets and estradiol valerate/dienogest tablets.
If you have used HRT without a dose break
Start taking the product the next day after the break.
If this is your first course of HRT
You can start treatment any day.
If you took more than you should
If you accidentally take too many tablets, you may experience nausea, vomiting, or period-like bleeding. No special treatment is required, but if you are concerned, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice.
If you forget to take it
If you forget to take your tablet at the usual time and less than 24 hours have passed since then, take the tablet as soon as possible. Take your next tablet at your usual time.
If more than 24 hours have passed since you missed a dose, leave the missed tablet in the package. Continue taking your tablets at your usual time. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed tablet.
If you forget to take your pills for several days, you may experience breakthrough bleeding.
If you stop taking it
You may experience menopausal symptoms again, such as: B. Hot flashes, trouble sleeping, nervousness, dizziness, or vaginal dryness. Bone loss may occur. If you want to stop taking it, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice.
If you need surgery
If you are having surgery, tell your doctor that you are taking the drug. You may need to stop taking the medication about 4 to 6 weeks before surgery to reduce the risk of a blood clot. Ask your doctor when you can start taking it again.
