Femseven Conti (estradiol/levonorgestrel) patch is a hormone replacement therapy (HRT). It contains two female hormones: estrogen-estradiol and progestogen-levonorgestrel. It is used to relieve symptoms that occur after menopause.
The amount of estrogen produced by a woman’s body decreases during menopause. This can lead to symptoms such as heat in the face, neck and chest (“hot flashes”). After menopause, these symptoms are reduced with FemSeven Conti.
The estrogen and progesterone contained in FemSeven Conti patches are absorbed by the body and increase the levels of these sex hormones in the blood, which may relieve the symptoms listed below.
Tides
Difficulty sleeping
Bad mood or anxiety
Vaginal dryness
Low sex drive
Problems concentrating
HRT should include a progestogen (levonorgestrel) for women who have not had a hysterectomy. This is because in women with an intact uterus, estrogen stimulates endometrial growth, which if left unchecked can lead to endometrial cancer. Progestogens are prescribed to counteract the effects of estrogen on the lining of the uterus and reduce the likelihood of cancer, although they do not completely eliminate it. Thus, Femseven Conti can be used by women who have or do not have a uterus.
