Indication:
The medicine is a preparation of thyroid hormones with the addition of iodine in the form of potassium iodide.

for the treatment of simple goiter (enlargement of the thyroid gland) without simultaneous dysfunction, if additional administration of iodine in addition to thyroid hormone is medically indicated,
to prevent the regrowth of goiter after thyroid surgery or treatment with radioactive iodine.

Elderly patients, patients with coronary heart disease, patients with hypothyroidism
In elderly patients, patients with coronary artery disease and patients with severe or long-standing hypothyroidism, treatment with thyroid hormones should be initiated with extreme caution (low initial dose, then increased slowly and at longer intervals with frequent monitoring of thyroid hormones). ).
Patients with low body weight and patients with large goiter
Experience has shown that a lower dose is sufficient even in patients with low body weight and in patients with large goiters.

If you take more L-thyroxine than you should

If you forget to take your medicine
If you take too little or forget a dose, do not take the missed dose and stick to the prescribed dose.
If you stop taking L-thyroxine
