1. WHAT IS SICCAFLUID AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR
This is a tear substitute containing a lubricant called Carbomer 974P.
This is an ophthalmic gel used to relieve the symptoms of dry eyes (such as pain, burning, irritation, or dryness) caused by insufficient production of tears.
2. BEFORE USING SICCAFLUID
Don’t use it
. If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to carbomer or any of the other ingredients listed in Section 6, “What SICCAFLUID contains”
Be especially careful:
– if you wear soft contact lenses: they must first be removed in order to use SICCAFLUID ophthalmic gel. After use, wait at least 30 minutes before putting your lenses back in. See also section 2 “Important information about some of the ingredients of SICCAFLUID”.
– If the condition worsens or does not improve after starting treatment with SICCAFLUID: consult a doctor.
– DO NOT INJECT, DO NOT SWALLOW.
Children and teenagers under 18:
The safety and efficacy of SICCAFLUID in children and adolescents at the recommended adult dosage have been established based on clinical experience, but clinical trial data are not available.
Use of other medicines
Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription. If you are taking any other medicine that needs to be used on the eyes during treatment: first apply another ophthalmic medicine, wait 15 minutes, then apply SICCAFLUID.
Pregnancy and lactation
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, check with your doctor before using SICCAFLUID. He will decide if he can use it.
Driving and using cars
You may experience temporary blurred vision after using SICCAFLUID. Wait until your vision returns to normal before driving or operating machinery.
Important information about some of the components of SICCAFLUID
If you wear soft contact lenses, you must remove them before using SICCAFLUID Eye Gel. After using SICCAFLUID, you must wait at least 30 minutes before putting your lenses back in. This is important because one of the ingredients in SICCAFLUID, called benzalkonium chloride, can cause eye irritation and discolor soft contact lenses.
3. HOW TO APPLY SICCAFLUID
If it has been recommended to you, always use it exactly as your doctor has told you. In case of doubt, you should consult your doctor or pharmacist. The usual dose of SICCAFLUID is 1 drop in each eye requiring treatment up to 4 times daily.
Children and teenagers under 18:
safety and efficacy in children and adolescents at doses recommended for adults have been established based on clinical experience, but clinical trial data are not available.
Instructions for use
Do not use the vial if the seal around the cap is broken before the first opening.
Wash your hands thoroughly before opening the vial. Tilt your head back and look at the ceiling.
1. Gently pull back the lower eyelid of the eye in need of treatment until a small “pocket” is formed.
2. Turn the bottle upside down. Squeeze it to release 1 drop into the “pocket”.
3. Release your lower eyelid and blink a few times.
4. Repeat steps 1-3 for the other eye if it needs treatment.
To prevent infection, do not allow the tip of the vial to touch the eye, surrounding tissue, or anything else. Close the bottle with a screw cap immediately after use.
Hold the vial upside down to promote the formation of drops for later use of SICCAFLUID.
Once opened, the vial should not be used for more than 28 days; see also Section 5 How to store SICCAFLUID.
If you use more SICCAFLUID than recommended
Using more drops of SICCAFLUID than intended will not cause any harm.
If you forget to use SICCAFLUID
If you miss a dose of SICCAFLUID, continue with your next dose as planned.
If you have any further questions on the use of this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
4. POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS
Like all medicines, SICCAFLUID can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them.
Contact your doctor if:
• your condition worsened or did not improve after you started treatment with SICCAFLUID.
If you experience any of the following side effects immediately after using the ophthalmic gel, call your doctor if they are of concern to you:
• short-term blurred vision;
• slight short-term tingling or burning sensation in the eyes.

Il s’agit d’un substitut lacrymal contenant un lubrifiant appelé Carbomer 974P.
Il s’agit d’un gel ophtalmique utilisé pour soulager les symptômes de la sécheresse oculaire (comme la douleur, la brûlure, l’irritation ou la sécheresse) causée par une production insuffisante de larmes.
2. AVANT D’UTILISER SICCAFLUID
Ne l’utilisez pas
. Si vous êtes allergique (hypersensible) au carbomère ou à l’un des autres composants mentionnés dans la rubrique 6, “Ce que contient SICCAFLUID”
Soyez particulièrement prudent :
– si vous portez des lentilles de contact souples : elles doivent être préalablement retirées pour pouvoir utiliser le gel ophtalmique SICCAFLUID. Après utilisation, attendez au moins 30 minutes avant de remettre vos lentilles. Voir également rubrique 2 “Informations importantes concernant certains composants de SICCAFLUID”.
– Si l’état s’aggrave ou ne s’améliore pas après le début du traitement par SICCAFLUID : consulter un médecin.
– NE PAS INJECTER, NE PAS AVALER.
Enfants et adolescents de moins de 18 ans :
La sécurité et l’efficacité de SICCAFLUID chez les enfants et les adolescents à la posologie adulte recommandée ont été établies sur la base de l’expérience clinique, mais les données des essais cliniques ne sont pas disponibles.
Utilisation d’autres médicaments
Veuillez informer votre médecin ou votre pharmacien si vous prenez ou avez pris récemment tout autre médicament, y compris un médicament obtenu sans ordonnance. Si vous prenez un autre médicament qui doit être utilisé sur les yeux pendant le traitement : appliquez d’abord un autre médicament ophtalmique, attendez 15 minutes, puis appliquez SICCAFLUID.
Grossesse et allaitement
Si vous êtes enceinte ou si vous allaitez, consultez votre médecin avant d’utiliser SICCAFLUID. Il décidera s’il peut l’utiliser.
Conduire et utiliser des voitures
Vous pouvez avoir une vision floue temporaire après avoir utilisé SICCAFLUID. Attendez que votre vision redevienne normale avant de conduire ou d’utiliser des machines.
Informations importantes sur certains des composants de SICCAFLUID
Si vous portez des lentilles de contact souples, vous devez les retirer avant d’utiliser SICCAFLUID Eye Gel. Après avoir utilisé SICCAFLUID, vous devez attendre au moins 30 minutes avant de remettre vos lentilles. Ceci est important car l’un des composants de SICCAFLUID, appelé chlorure de benzalkonium, peut irriter les yeux et décolorer les lentilles de contact souples.
3. COMMENT APPLIQUER SICCAFLUID
S’il vous a été recommandé, utilisez-le toujours exactement comme votre médecin vous l’a indiqué. En cas de doute, vous devez consulter votre médecin ou votre pharmacien. La dose habituelle de SICCAFLUID est de 1 goutte dans chaque œil nécessitant un traitement jusqu’à 4 fois par jour.
Enfants et adolescents de moins de 18 ans :

Mode d’emploi
Ne pas utiliser le flacon si le sceau autour du bouchon est brisé avant la première ouverture.
Lavez-vous soigneusement les mains avant d’ouvrir le flacon. Penchez la tête en arrière et regardez le plafond.
1. Tirez doucement la paupière inférieure de l’œil à traiter jusqu’à ce qu’une petite “poche” se forme.
2. Retournez la bouteille. Pressez-le pour libérer 1 goutte dans la “poche”.
3. Relâchez votre paupière inférieure et clignez des yeux plusieurs fois.
4. Répétez les étapes 1 à 3 pour l’autre œil s’il a besoin d’un traitement.
Pour prévenir l’infection, ne laissez pas l’extrémité du flacon toucher l’œil, les tissus environnants ou quoi que ce soit d’autre. Refermer le flacon avec un bouchon à vis immédiatement après utilisation.
Tenez le flacon à l’envers pour favoriser la formation de gouttes pour une utilisation ultérieure de SICCAFLUID.
Une fois ouvert, le flacon ne doit pas être utilisé plus de 28 jours ; voir également la rubrique 5 Comment conserver SICCAFLUID.
Si vous avez utilisé plus de SICCAFLUID que la quantité recommandée
L’utilisation de plus de gouttes de SICCAFLUID que prévu ne causera aucun dommage.
Si vous oubliez d’utiliser SICCAFLUID
